Follow live: Federer takes on Struff
Roger Federer is on centre court for his round two match, while Stan Wawrinka has lost his battle against America's Tennys Sandgren. Follow all the action on ESPN.
He hasn't had it all his own way but Federer takes the first set 6-4 against Struff. The temperature has cooled somewhat but it's still pretty uncomfortable at Rod Laver Arena.
So today's temperature did hit the magical (?) 40 degree mark (104F) at 5:30pm - a brutal heat for players and fans alike. But it's not like heatwaves are unusual at the Aussie Open - in modern times, the mercury hit 42 degrees (108F) two years ago and in 2014, temps got as high as 44 (111F). The bad news? Tomorrow's forecast is even hotter than today's. Yuck.
